At Jackson House, we see the potential in people.
When you’re struggling with your mental health, our team is here to help you understand your own worth, address your immediate mental health needs and provide you with the resources to improve your quality of life once you leave our care.
We understand it is hard to reach out for help, which is why we are committed to making your journey with us as comfortable and comprehensive as possible. We help individuals who are having a hard time making it through each day because of a mental illness or substance abuse problem. Our care is rooted in evidence-based practices and our caring team is led by trained medical professionals. We take a personalized approach with each Jackson House client and offer many different treatment options, including psychotherapy, psychiatry and life skills training, to offer every client the most effective care for their needs.
We are fortunate to have a highly skilled and compassionate team of therapists, certified peer support specialists and nurses overseeing treatment at Jackson House. All of our therapists have their master’s or doctoral degree along with years of training and experience. A member of our nursing staff is always on site to help answer questions about medication and teach clients how to lead healthy lives. Certified peer support specialists meet with clients daily to share their own personal recovery stories and challenges to provide a unique therapeutic experience.
We strive to create a homelike atmosphere at Jackson House. Clients may comfortably share a room with one other person and everyone will help the team prepare healthy meals each day.
Every clients' journey is different and customized to meet their needs. On average, most clients stay at Jackson House for two weeks. We continue to provide clients with care for the first month following their treatment.
We expect all of our clients to fully participate in their treatment. We want to help you to feel better, but we can’t do it without you.
Treatment at Jackson House is tailored to each client’s personal needs. We also intentionally limit the size of our program to no more than 15 people at a time, so everyone can receive our individualized attention.
Each day looks a little bit different at Jackson House, but we keep a set schedule to help our clients establish a healthy routine. Most days include a combination of group therapy, peer support sessions, individual therapy, medication management and developing an action plan to help you stay healthy once you leave.
We encourage families to support their loved ones while they are going through treatment because we know it can have a huge impact for our clients. For family members who want to take a more active role in the recovery process, we have counselors who can provide family therapy upon request.
Jackson House provides compassionate care to individuals experiencing a severe mental health issue. Our treatment is designed to help you address the immediate needs at hand and give you the tools you need to take back control and improve your quality of life.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Our thoughts, feelings and behaviors play a huge role in our well-being. Cognitive behavioral therapy is designed to help clients get in tune with these three areas and learn how to make small changes to improve their quality of life.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
This treatment is designed to help clients manage intense emotions and decrease conflict in their lives by focusing on mindfulness, increasing distress tolerance, improving emotional regulation and building stronger interpersonal skills.
Motivational Interviewing Group
It is hard to create change in our life but, when we do, the motivation often comes from within. In our motivational interviewing group, we help our clients tap into themselves and resolve any sense of ambivalence.
Wellness Recovery Action Plan
When clients leave Jackson House they need to have a plan for how they are going to take care of themselves and improve their well-being. We work with our clients to develop plans focused on their strengths and the tools they’ve learned while at Jackson House, so they feel ready to navigate potentially stressful situations and know what to do when they are faced with a tough decision.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
It is impossible to control every situation. In acceptance and commitment therapy we teach our clients to stop struggling with their inner emotions and accept how they are feeling. Then we teach them how to increase their mindfulness and mental flexibility so they can move forward.
At Jackson House, we want all of our clients to be successful and feel empowered when they leave, which is why we provide ongoing support to all of our clients. For the first 60-days following treatment, our team will stay in touch and help you navigate any challenges that may come with being home.
Almost 70 percent of people experience trauma. Trauma can have long lasting effects and often requires extensive treatment. All of our therapists are trained to help our clients process trauma and provide them with coping skills and mindfulness techniques to the help them rebuild a sense of control.
SMART Recovery, also known as Self-Management and Recovery Training, is a scientifically based program to help individuals recover from addictive behaviors. This four-part program gives clients tools and techniques to build motivation, cope with urges, manage thoughts and feelings and live a balanced life.
Clients who struggle with addiction cope with it in many different ways. For individuals who believe avoiding their addictive behavior provides their best chance of recovery, the 12-step program can offer a lifelong framework to help them on their journey.
Why Choose Jackson House for Treatment?
Once you’ve decided you or a loved one needs help to address their mental health needs, the most important decision you’ll make is deciding where to seek care. Our team is here to help you determine if Jackson House is the right fit for you. We’ve helped hundreds of clients address their mental health needs and improve their quality of life. Here are a few key reasons why they selected us for their care:
The Appropriate Level of Care in the Appropriate Setting
Clients who come to Jackson House are often experiencing a personal crisis. They need immediate attention and around the clock support from a compassionate team. We provide this care for our clients in a homelike environment and on a voluntary basis. We offer patients an alternative to a locked, inpatient hospital and outpatient treatment. Inpatient hospitals can be unnecessary, and potentially traumatic, for patients who are willing to seek treatment. While outpatient facilities may not offer enough support or supervision.
No two people are the same, which is why our approach changes from client to client. We provide everyone who comes to us with a customized treatment program. By getting to know each of our clients, we can address their individual needs and help improve their quality of life.
Action Plans to Address Long-term Health
We understand clients’ mental health journey is not over when they leave Jackson House, which is why a large part of our treatment focuses on how patients are going to take care of themselves once they leave. We help clients develop plans for how they will address potentially stressful situations and build strong support systems. Our social worker meets with each client to make sure they have a safe place to live after Jackson House and addresses other critical needs. We also provide after care for all our clients for the first month following their treatment to help monitor their progress and offer continued support.
